- Abstract
- The article considers copying, correction and translation of the psalter text as a single process, lasted throughout the whole Moscow period of Maximus the Greek’s life and in 1552 ended by his revision of the Church Slavonic text of the psalms according to the Greek original. The manuscript designed as a two-language text is inscribed in the European tradition of philologically justified and annotated bilingual editions of Holy Writ texts. The interlinear lists of the Psalter of 1552 allow characterizing the linguistic and exegetical methodology of Maximus the Greek’s revision and clarifying the Greek source of the translation.
