- Abstract
- The article discusses the school and the pupil in the context of the Chinese educational system. The author argues that the connection between the modern system of education and the state power has remained within the framework of traditional notions, which not only has determined a specifi c nature of education but also has become an essential condition for the shaping of a distinctive national character trait of the modern Chinese.
