Abstract
The article is devoted to the tragic death of General Gheorghe Avramescu, the Commander of the 4th Romanian Army, which, after the Jassy-Kishenev Operation, was fighting within the 2nd Ukrainian Front. There are different versions of what caused his death. The article argues in favour of one of them.
