- Abstract
Тhe article considers the peculiarities of the evolution of Austrian-Russian relations under the Minister of foreign Affairs of the Austria-Hungary Count Julius (Gyula) Andrássy, in the 1870s. The author draws attention to the fact that the goals of Andrássy not always were hos-tile to the Russian Empire, and errors that led to misunderstandings and clashes between the two states were committed by both sides.
