Abstract
The article is devoted to unknown episodes in the life of the Russian naval officer Mikhail Roschakovsky (1876-1938), related to Greece and the Greek Queen Olga, who was the patroness of Russian sailors, especially those who were treated in her hospital in Piraeus. She helped the young midshipman to recover from lungs tuberculosis and then followed all twists and turns of his bright, but very difficult life. Roschakovskij, as Olga anticipated, became a hero of the Russo-Japanese war, proactive participant in World War One, and a diplomat. After the queen’s death he returned to the USSR, and ten years later died in the GULAG.
