- Abstract
- The article analyses concepts of traditional Slavic culture, connected with the plant known as milfoil. It considers connections between the name of the plant in Slavic dialects, folklore texts about it and the use of this plant in the rituals of popular magic and medicine. Dialect names, understood in the terms of popular etymology are of special interesT. In different Slavic-language areal spaces, people semioticise different typical qualities of the plant, what let make some observations of linguo-geographical character.
