- Abstract
- The article regards the reasons and circumstances of setting an alliance between the Ukrainian People's Republic (UNR) and Poland in 1920. This way Petliura's government was trying to get back the recently lost state territories. The Polish leader J. Pilsudski considered the alliance as a pretext for continuing the East expansion aimed at changing geopolitical balance, so that Poland were able to take over the place of Russia in Eastern Europe.
