- Abstract
- The semantic structure of the word *zelьje in Slavic languages includes three main meanings: «vegetable» «herbal wilding» and «medical and poisonous decoction». The fi rst meaning is typical for Southern and South-Western Slavic languages, the second and third – for Eastern-Slavic ones. The Polish language takes an intermediate position between these areals.
