Abstract
Faddey Bulgarin (in the Polish tradition Tadeusz Bulharyn) as a representative of the nineteenth-century Polish gentry (szlachta) of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania had multiple identity, which combined both Polish-Lithuanian, and Russian-imperial features. This could not but found its manifestations in his worldview, his work, and the way contemporaries saw the writer.
