Abstract

The connection of historiography with the state of Czech society on different stages of its development during last 20 years was shown. It was also described how large-scale political and social-economic reforms, which led to deep and qualitative social changes, had influence upon the progress of historical thought. Main direction of Czech historiography together with its achievements and fails were viewed. Different works on the topic were characterized.
