- Abstract
- The court poet Simeon Polotsky made the first attempt to introduce into the Russian literature a system of poetic genres for the court ceremonial practice. His «Rifmologion» is a book of panegyrics explicitly connected with the court of the Tsars Alexei Mikhailovich and Fedor Alekseevich. In the present article the author considers, how this collection came into being, the genre structure of the works, which were included into it, and the circle of the poet's addressees. The article discusses once again the problem of the full form of the secular name of the poet.
