- Abstract
- The study reviews the connection between historical science and processes in the Slovak society after the "velvet" revolution of 1989, disintegration of Czechoslovakia and formation of the independent Slovak Republic. It describes the tasks, which Slovak historians confronted. It presents m directions of historical research on the Second World War, the Slovak-Soviet relations during this period, and on the disputable issues of Slovak history. Relevant works on the topic in question are characterized.
