- Abstract
- The article analyses different interpretations of the personality of Alexander I – the Russian tsar and Polish constitutional king – in Polish literature. It focuses on the transformations of this historic fi gure in the context of literary conventionality and in the frame of Polish national and historical consciousness. An attempt is made to consider different components of Alexander I’s image in different genres of literature.
