- Abstract
- The maximum number of approachable linguistic works published during the last two centuries and devoted to the semantics of Lithuanian verbal prefixes is reviewed in this article. The subject of these researches are derivational meanings of prefixes and their role in aspectual modification of the verbs. On one hand, the analysis of literature on Lithuanian verbal prefixes helps to list the unique features of the Lithuanian prefixal system in comparison with Slavic ones. On the other hand, such analysis points out the holes in the description of Lithuanian verbal prefixes.
