Abstract
The article shows the influence of F. Chopin’s music on the original works by M. Balakirev. Balakirev transcribed several works of Chopin, marked the beginning of the great Russian tradition of the performing Polish composer’s works, and did much to perpetuate his memory in Poland itself.
