- Abstract
- The article is dedicated to the content analysis of the last miracle, described in St. Savas Life of Theodosius the Chilandarian. It deals with textual and iconographic traditions, which had infl uenced the images of the miracle, and considers its function. The article draws parallels with the Lives and images of Byzantine and Slavic holy warriors, equestrian images of St. Michael the Archangel, as well as with the Western ecclesiastical tradition, allowing clerics taking part in battles
