Abstract
The heyday of the studies on the literary and cultural ties between different countries falls on the 1960s-1980s. Nowadays a factographical approach is no more popular among scholars and gives way before a new approach knows as imagology. The book of G. Gerassimova is probably one of the most recent products of this trend. She summarises different evidence of how the Hungarian writer Mor Jokai was taking interest in Russian and Ukrainian history and what refl ections did it fi nd in his novels.
