Abstract
The article presents the history of Voyvodovo, the only Czech village in Bulgaria. Voyvodovo was founded in 1900, and its «Czech» period ended after World War Two, when the Czechs left for Czechoslovakia. Voyvodovans were renowned for their religious fervor and farming skills and the village was considered «exemplary» by the local population as well as by the state administration.
