- Abstract
- In texts of the eleventh-fourteenth centuries, there are three variants of the fi rst person pronoun: азъ, ёзъ and ё. Their emergence was determined by spheres of their usage. The form азъ has an offi cial character, the form ё is used in unoffi cial, everyday-life situations and often in adversative constructions. The variant ёзъ belongs to the rapidly gaining ground bureaucratic stile.
