- Abstract
- In the present article, the Old-Believers version of the anti-Napoleonic myth is studied on the basis of the recently discovered manuscript The Story of Napoleon the Antichrist, dated as early as the second decade of the nineteenth century. Collective identity of the Old Believers produced the image of Napoleon the Antichrist, having built it into the tradition of eschatological teaching, stemming from the period of the Russian Church Schism in the middle of the seventeenth century.
