- Abstract
- The article tells about the Institute of Slavic Studies, which embodies the progress of national Slavistics. The history of the Institute is divided into more or less congruent stages, each of which is briefly characterised. All these stages were influenced by political and economic situation in the country. It is hard however to evaluate the fourth, still lasting stage. Nevertheless it is a matter of fact that the scope of the printed production has grown and, as a result of the ongoing process of generation change, the share of younger research fellows grows.
