- Abstract
- The article analyses the relations between the Czech nobility and Sigismund of Luxembourg, king of Hungary and Germany, later emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, who inherited the Kingdom of Bohemia from his brother Wenceslaus in 1419. The study intends to clarify political aims and behavioral strategies of the royal authority and aristocracy during the change of throne in the Kingdom of Bohemia on the eve of the Hussite revolt. The author refers to some less explored Old-Czech charters containing the demands of the Czech Estates and Sigismund's response.
