Аннотация
Настоящая работа рассматривает роль новых технологий в жизни кочевников Севера России на примере устройства, не так давно ставшего наиболее значимым по своему воздействию на жизнь людей, – мобильного телефона. Выбор автором данной темы исследования призван частично восполнить пробел в антропологических изысканиях в сфере влияния новых технологий. Автор приходит к выводу, что в тундровых регионах России мобильная связь обладает более существенным потенциалом для изменения культуры и образа жизни кочевых обществ, нежели предыдущие технологические инновации (даже такие, как, например, снегоход). Особое внимание уделяется характеристике специфики воздействия мобильной связи на общества с мобильным образом жизни.
