Abstract

Various aspects of "death of the author" conception are discussed. The content of major literary and philosophical categories are analyzed, that highlights the incompleteness and inconsistency of the above-mentioned conception. A line of argument is built demonstrating the invidiousness of application of the conception to a real literary process.
