A ‘Round Table’ “Trajectories of global and Russian theoretical sociology evolution” has been held on the 2nd of June 2021 under auspices of the Academic Council of the Social Sciences Section, Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Sociology, Federal Center for Theoretical and Applied Sociology, RAS, Russian Society “Community of Professional Sociologists” with participation of the journals “Sociological Studies” and “Sociological Journal” in remote format. Following topics have been suggested for discussion: 1) Which principal changes are underway in the global and Russian theoretical sociology? How do fare Marxist, positivist, public, postmodern, global etc. sociologies? 2) Which processes are characteristic for Russian sociology today? 4) Teaching of theoretical sociology in the universities of the world and in Russia as an indicator of overall trends. The ‘Round Table’ has been chaired by RAS corresponding member Zhan T. Tochshenko and Professor Nikita E. Pokrovskiy. The materials of the ‘Round Table’ are published above.
