- An overview of the Russian and Western discourses of multiculturalism is presented. The article substantiates the relevance of studying cultural diversity and its problematic aspects. The author focuses on the most productive features of cultural pluralism. The article reveals the peculiarities of understanding this phenomenon in relation to the political situation in Russian society.
