- Abstract
- Based upon qualitative express-survey data collected in Orel and Tula, the capitals of the neighboring CentralFederal District regions with standard of living a little below average and above the average for the Russian Federation, itis shown that in the quality of life conversations there were initiatively and repeatedly sounded by the informants someindicators, not all of which have become commonplace in the literature on the measurement of quality of life: level ofincome, quality improvement of the settlement space, availability of spaces for civic participation, cultural recreation andconsumption, as well as the availability of new scenes of socializing youth, and good images of the regional administrationand local big business.
