Abstract
The article discusses development of the factory sociology at an Urals factory on the example of the sociological service in Sinarsky pipe plant, which is one of the largest enterprises of Pipe metallurgical company. The article is based on practical experience of the author, who worked as a sociologist in the enterprise for over 20 years. The author made an attempt to understand the role and place of sociology in the development of the enterprise, recognizing the significant contribution of philosophers in the determination of the directions of sociological research here. Factory sociological service was founded in 1973. It operates in the enterprise currently. The status of a factory sociological service has been changed several times during this period of time. It depended on the situation in Russia and the Sverdlovsk region, as well as the position of the company’s management. The author analyzes relationship of enterprise development and directions of sociological and socio-psychological research, the use of their results in practice of the control team; concludes on the relevance of comprehensive sociological research in the sphere of production of industrial enterprises to enhance economic efficiency and improve the quality of life of employees.
