Abstract
The logical structure of Luhmann's sociology is shown as the enrichment of the discipline with General scientific achievements of system theory and the construction of an “observational” theory of society on this basis. The article presents the results of Luman's creative work at the preliminary and main stage, which began with the publication of the book “Social systems” and ended with the work “Society of society”. The conclusion that it represents the second stage of development of the system-theoretical direction in sociology after Parsons is proved.
