- Abstract
- Theoretical approaches to the study of ethno-confessional identity are formulated. Based on a sociological study in the Republic of Bashkortostan, the author analyzes the religious and political orientations of Muslims and Orthodox Christians and the grounds for inter-confessional trust. Special attention is paid to the attitudes of young people in the sphere of state-religious relations. Ethnic solidarity and religiosity reveal the significance of the cultural factor in the processes of social and political consolidation of the country. Religion is one of the markers of ethnic identity, a factor policies and processes of civil society formation.
