- Abstract
- Research of Ladoga-Nevo hydronyms showed that there are different versions explaining ancient etymology of the Lake names as the Finnish, Karelia, Anciently-Scandinavian, so Russian origin. Although, it’s possible, that hydronym Ladoga appeared far before than Nevo in connection with history of settling of North-Western Priladozh’ya in I-II centuries of our era by an ancient Karelian tribe.
