Abstract
The article compares the philosophical approach of two key contemporary one another poets of the Russian and Italian culture of the XX century: Osip E. Mandelstam and Eugenio Montale. We show how the starting points of the two poets are actually polar: while one attempts to reach the noumenon and name it, the other uses the word as a starting point, considering it as the main source of knowledge. The reserachers’ attention had not been directed on this theme yet, but it seems to us that a comparison on the reflections of these poets on language as poetic creation is not deprived of significance.
