Abstract
The article suggests a comparative analysis, which is aimed at demonstrating similarities and dissimilarities in political and economic development of the two neighbouring monarchies - the Russian Empire and the Kingdom of Romania, ruled in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries by the Romanov and Hohenzollern dynasties.
