Abstract
This publication of new documents dated 1938-1940 and 1945 deals with Vladimir I. Picheta’s activities at the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute (MGPI), where a persecution campaign had been launched against him. At the same time, he was highly respected in the academic circles. He was among authors of a textbook for universities titled «The History of the USSR from the earliest times to the end of the eighteenth century». He was also elected a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences.
