- Abstract
- The article analyses the historical roots of the concept known as Great Albania. First it was formulated by the members of the Albanian (Prizren) League in 1878–1881. Its delegates demanded to gather all the Albanians-populated lands of the Ottoman Porte in the framework of one vilayet (administrative unit). Later this concept became the key element of the Albanian national liberation movement. Nowadays the making of «Great Albania» is one of the primary aims of Albanian radical movements in different Balkan states.
