- Abstract
- The article is a pioneering analysis of a previously unknown manuscript copy of the state-panegyric poem «The Eagle of Russia» (1667) by Simeon Polockij, written on the occasion of the offi cial proclаmation of Tsarevitch Alexei Alexeyevich as a successor to the Russian throne. The textual comparison of three copies containing the poem testifi es that the text of the found manuscript is initial. This fact determines particular importance of this manuscript under scrutiny for the study of the history of the poem.
