The author considers the phenomenon of calques creation in the Old Slavonic language in the context of word-formation and strives to demonstrate, that, on the one hand, in composita juxtaposition of two autosemantic root morphemes, determined by Greek samples, might imply the procedure of calques creation, on the other hand, one-root derivates were mainly created by medieval Slavic bookmen independently from the Greek samples.
