- Abstract
The article explores a valuable and not studied manuscript of the Explanatory Prophecies from the early seventeenth century. The book contains a copy of a previously unknown marginal note, made by the priest Upir Likhoy on May 14, 1047. This note explains that he started copying the EP for Prince Svyatopolk, to who he felt a mixture of fear and malevolence. Upir Likhoy came up to verse Isaiah 65:3, then was forced to suspend his work on the book for a while and continued it on May 14, 1047 already for prince Vladimir Yaroslavich. The newly discovered marginal note is considered here in connection with other marginalia made by the priest in the Explanatory Prophecies.
