- Abstract
- The article takes the premise of the non-cognitive interpretation of metaphor suggested by D. Davidson and the related concept of Richard Rorti about the role of metaphor in history. The author suggests his own interpretation as a complex of illocutve acts, composing a sort of entity, which could be called metaphor. This oeuvre-metaphor intervenes, with different degree of activity, into the public discourse and in some cases acquires the ability of changing our terminology and ideas about literature.
