The article is devoted to the analysis of the author's punctuation in the typesetting manuscript of "The Diary of a Writer" by F.M. Dostoevsky for 1877 and semantic errors in reading and reproducing handwritten text in print, the identification and correction of which contributes to the restoration of the original author's text.
