Abstract
The present study exposes to view an entirely new perspective on the writing system of the pre-Christian Slavs, which - as we read in Monk Hrabr's treatise «On the Letters» -consisted of «strokes and incisions», by offering a comparison of Hrabr's «On the Letters» with paragraph VI of Dionysius Thrax's «The Art of Grammar».
