Abstract
Basing on the materials collected in the field-trips, the author investigates the cultural dialect of the Muslim Bulgarians in the village of Vievo in the region of Smolyan, their quest for own identity in the globalising world. Furthermore, the texts of the traditional spiritual culture of Bulgaria’s Slavic Muslim population are analysed with the purpose of specifying the elements of Oriental and European culture, their interaction and infiltration, coexistence and conflicts.
